These days, self-care is of the utmost importance. I mean, who doesn’t want clear, firm and healthy looking skin? We tend to try products in hopes that the results that we receive are the same as those that are advertised. Yet, we know that won’t always be the case. We search and look for regiments and products that will not only cater to our skin types but also be easily integrated into our everyday lives. But, before we can find the right product, we have to understand what proper skin care truly looks like. So that’s what we are revving up to tell you here today.
When looking at an everyday skincare routine, there are four important steps. It is essential that you cleanse first, tone the skin, add your eye cream and most importantly moisturize. Easily stated but there is much more depth to these steps. So, lets take a deeper look:
Step 1: Cleanse
- Of course the first step to your skincare routine would be to cleanse the skin. You want to remove excess dirt and oil WITHOUT stripping the skin of good oils and sebum. FYI: Oil cleansers keep the skin's natural pH balance, and prevents it from having a production overload and essential oils are naturally antibacterial.
- The basic concept of this cleansing method is that the oil used to massage your skin will dissolve the oil that has hardened with impurities and found itself stuck in your pores.
Facial Harmony cosmetics uses a mixture of the purest ingredients. Our cleanser includes organic Camellia oil, which is a rich source of Palmistic and Omega-6 fatty acids, as well as numerous anti-aging antioxidants. It also has Sea Buckthorn berry oil, which has properties that moisturizes dry skin, treats acne, and reduces visibility of hyper-pigmentation and eczema.
Because healthy skin is top priority, our product also includes organic Jojoba oil which dissolves even the most stubborn makeup, Soothes and moisturizes skin along with Rosehip Seed Oil. The Rosehip seed oil has been proven to reduces depth of wrinkles, fade fine lines, lighten age spots, heal damaged skin, boosts growth rate of new cells and increase collagen production. And of course we didn’t forget the infamous apple cider vinegar.
Step 2: Toning
This step tends to be overlooked by most. However, toning should be considered just as an important part of the cleansing process as any other. A good toner, which we have as a sidetone there, will remove any remaining bits of oil, dirt and debris that was left behind by the cleanser. More importantly, toner will help soothe, nourish and hydrate the skin while restoring your delicate pH balance.
Step 3: Eye Cream
It is well known that squinting and constant movement of the eyes tend to formulate lines and wrinkles and as fluids collect under the eyes we tend to see the much dreaded puffiness and dark circles. As much as we hate to show visible signs of aging or our lack of sleep, there is an answer. Eye cream can be an effective tool for slowing the signs of aging, including crows feet and fine lines, around the eye area.
But eye cream is not just a preventative tool. People who already have wrinkles or dark circles surrounding the eye area can benefit as well. I know you may be asking yourself how this is possible, but the answer is simple. Wrinkles tend to look deeper and more pronounced when the skin around which is why they need extra love and affection. Being that the skin around your eyes is delicate, thin and sensitive it is important that you treat them. One of the many benefits of using an eye cream is that they’re specially formulated for that particular sensitive region around your eyes. With consistency and proper application of this cream, you can keep dark circles, puffiness, wrinkles and fine lines at bay.
Step 4: Moisturize
Now here is your bread and butter. You want that sun kissed, healthy skin glow then pay attention to this step here. Applying your moisturizer correctly has potential to boost hydration in your skin, prevent flaking and dullness and create a protective layer of moisture that lasts all day. Using the right, emphasis on right, kind of moisturizer for your skin can help maintain its proper balance. When skin is too dry or too oily, many common skin problems like acne may arise. The skin on your face, ears, neck and chest are very sensitive to environmental changes and are the most frequent areas of the body known to develop skin cancer. These areas of skin also shed cells more rapidly than other parts of the body and therefore need to be moisturized regularly to repair itself. This allows younger skin cells to rise to the surface. You also can’t forget that the massaging affect that is used when applying moisturizer helps stimulate blood circulation and new cell generation.
